Cacao beans are the seeds from an Amazonian fruiting tree called the Theobroma tree (commonly called cacao tree) and is the source of all chocolate and cocoa products.
The cacao tree can only grow in a limited geographic region which is within 20 degrees north and south of the equator generally called “the cacao belt”. Today cacao tree are grow in more than 50 countries around the world.
This bean has been consuming for the first time 4,000 years ago by pre-Hispanic cultures and has been using  as a sacred drink.
Our cacao products come from Nicaragua, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru and Mexico.

FARMERS 

Artisan chocolate makers and raw cacao sellers often deal directly with cocoa farmer cooperatives, giving them a say in how the beans are treated from the moment they’re harvested and ensuring the best possible price for cocoa farmers in some of the world’s poorest regions. 
It is estimated that over 70% of the world’s cocoa is grown by indigenous communities in very poor working conditions for minimum wage.
By purchasing a fair-trade product you are making a difference to the lives of cocoa farmers and their workers.


We make sure that the cacao products we select do not contain chemicals or pesticides and a fair prices are paid to the farmers.

 

DIFFERENT FORMS OF CACAO  

Block – made from ground cacao and transformed into a paste, the cacao block is ideal for degustation and an easy way to see how much you are using.

Flakes - made from ground cacao beans. Easy to use as spread for your food or for your smoothies or drinks.

Nibs - made from ground cacao beans that have been peeled and chopped. Great to use for baking cookies, muffins, granola or even brownies.

From block to flakes, we have a selection of different type of cacao for every cacao craving.
